The Doctor requested a room set in the southern Utah desert. He wanted it to transition from dusk to night to dawn to day while showing above ground and below ground scenes. He also requested fossils.

The doctor requested a scene of his grandchildren, from behind, walking down a trail with the oldest petting a dragon because she is obsessed with dragons. The youngest is pointing at a flying dragon, because he's obsessed with pointing at planes. Little details like this help make a room feel more personal for the doctor.

The Doctor requested a sports room. I started by making a wall of lockers to represent Utah sports.

Client wanted the downtown Salt Lake City wall to transition into a mystical bird sanctuary with a pirate ship. I included a family of osprey and hidden cranes.

The doctor requested a sports room and left me to design it. I started with the idea of preparation (the locker room), anticipation (walking out), and competition broken up by youth sports and collegiate/pro sports.

Utah is famous for skiing, so I made sure to include a scene that reminds patients of the 2002 Winter Olympics.

The doctor wanted a room based on an indigenous myth about how the wolf stole summer. The room would essentially showcase a winter scene transitioning to a summer scene with a wolf carrying the summer from a bag.

Since this practice is based in Salt Lake City, I made sure to include scenes featuring local sports teams.

This wall showcases the desert night. I included glow-in-the-dark paint for the stars, so when patients turn off the lights, they are met with a starry sky.

The doctor requested a herd of wild horses walking off to the horizon at sunset. He also requested fossils, tarantulas, and an owl.

This scene shows young teenagers playing basketball. It was important to me to represent youth of all ages and ethnicities on the youth sports wall, as the doctor wanted his patients well represented.

The indigenous myth tells the story of a wolf who lives in a land that is always winter. He steals a bag containing summer with the help of other animals from a different tribe and brings it back to his tribe. The doctor really liked this story and wanted it represented here.

Here, I was hired to complete a room that the previous artist did not complete due to time constraints. The doctor requested an underwater scene to go under the window. She also wanted whimsy added to the scene, so I put an octopus toying with a pufferfish. It was a challenge to try and match the previous artist's style, but I managed it well.

Sports scene showing local teams Utah and BYU. The doctor is a big BYU fan, but most of his patients are Utah fans, so both teams are represented in the sports room.

This is my two year old son playing T-ball. He was the perfect model. I am also a San Diego Padres fan, so I gave him a Padres jersey.
